I’m confused about Wordpress….is it for blogging or is it a web hosting site?
I have a blog there…..great. But some people have a web site “powered” by Wordpress. I don’t get it. Can someone help me get some clarification here?
WordPress started as a blogging engine. Since then it has grown into a very powerful CMS (Content Management System), which allows people to use it for other types of Web sites (not just blogs).
WordPress is open source software available for download at www.wordpress.ORG if you plan to deploy it on your own Web hosting.
You can also get it as a free hosted solution on www.wordpress.COM. It’s an ideal solution for personal blogs but it has some limitations, for example are limited to using a pre-defined list of themes.
